Privacy Policy
The short version
- We collect what you log and what we need to build your plan. Nothing more.
- We never sell your data or use it for ads.
- Apple Health data stays out of advertising, AI requests and third-party sharing.
- You can export or delete everything from inside the app.
Who we are
Commit is a fitness and nutrition app operated by EdithStack Inc (“Commit”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use the Commit iPhone app and this website, why, and the choices you have.
Questions? Email support@trycommit.io.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. Your name and email address from Sign in with Apple or Google. If you choose Apple’s Hide My Email, we only receive a private relay address.
- Profile and goals. Sex, age, height, weight, goal weight, pace, training days, session length, equipment, current split, best lifts and the obstacles you pick during setup.
- What you log. Meals (photos, text descriptions and the nutrition estimates), workouts, sets and reps, weigh-ins and progress photos.
- Support messages. Anything you send us by email, including optional diagnostics you choose to attach.
Information collected automatically
- Subscription status. Whether you have an active trial or subscription, the plan and renewal dates. Apple handles payment. We never see your card details.
- Notification token. If you allow notifications, a token so reminders reach your device.
Apple Health
If you connect Apple Health, Commit reads only the types you allow (for example weight, workouts and active energy) and writes only the types you allow (workouts and nutrition). See Apple Health data below.
How we use it
- To create your account, calculate your calorie, macro and training targets, and keep your plan up to date.
- To estimate the nutrition in meals you photograph or describe.
- To show your contribution graph, streaks, progress and personal records.
- To send the reminders you turn on, including the reminder before a free trial ends.
- To confirm your subscription and restore purchases.
- To answer support requests, fix bugs, prevent abuse and keep the service secure.
- To meet legal obligations.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it to show you ads or share it with advertisers.
AI meal analysis
When you log a meal with a photo or a text description, we send that photo or text to Google Gemini to estimate calories and macros. It processes the request on our behalf and returns an estimate. We don’t send your name, email or Health data with these requests.
Estimates can be wrong. You can edit any meal before or after saving it.
Apple Health data
- We only access Health data you explicitly allow, and you can change this any time in the Health app under Sharing › Apps › Commit.
- Health data is used only to provide Commit’s features, such as updating your weight trend or counting a workout toward your day.
- We never use Health data for advertising or marketing, never sell it, and never share it with third parties except the service providers that store it for us.
- Health data is never sent to our AI provider.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run Commit, under contracts that limit how they can use it:
| Provider | What for | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign-in and file storage | Account, profile, logs and photos |
| RevenueCat | Subscription status | An anonymous user ID and purchase records from Apple |
| Apple and Google | Sign-in and payments | What you share with them when signing in or subscribing |
| Google Gemini | Meal nutrition estimates | Meal photos and descriptions |
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect someone’s safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business. In a sale, this policy would continue to apply to your information.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records (for example for tax or fraud prevention). Backups that may contain it are overwritten within a further 30 days.
Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile, targets and logs in the app at any time.
- Export your data in Settings › Export & data.
- Delete your account and data in Settings › Account › Delete account. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel your Apple subscription. Cancel that in your Apple ID settings.
- Notifications can be turned off in Settings › Notifications or in iOS Settings.
- Apple Health access can be changed or revoked in the Health app.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your data, or to object to some processing. Email support@trycommit.io and we’ll respond within 30 days. We don’t sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and providers with strong security practices. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong Apple or Google account and tell us if you suspect a problem.
Children
Commit isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email support@trycommit.io and we’ll delete it.
Where data is stored
Our providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we’ll update the effective date and tell you in the app before they take effect.
